This policy covers three things run by Aquir: this website (aquir.ai), the Aquir application (main.aquir.ai), and the Aquir app for Slack. It says what each one collects, what we do with it, and which other companies touch it. It is written to be read, not to be survived.
Aquir is a business product sold to companies. If you use Aquir because your employer bought it, your employer administers the account and decides who in your organisation can see what.
This website
The homepage has an early-access email form and the contact page has a form for your name, email address and message. We use what you send to reply to you and to tell you about early access. Nothing more.
Both forms are delivered by Web3Forms, which receives the submission and emails it to us. The pages load fonts from Google Fonts, which means Google sees your IP address when a page loads. There is no analytics, no advertising and no tracking cookies on this site.
The Aquir application
We hold:
- Your account — the name and email address your workspace administrator invited, and which workspaces and roles you belong to.
- What your team puts in — the documents, answers and deal information your organisation uploads or connects.
- The questions you ask and the answers Aquir gives, stored with the question text. That is what lets you follow up on an answer later, and what lets us investigate an answer that came out wrong.
- An audit log of security-relevant actions, such as linking or unlinking a Slack account.
Connecting other systems
Your administrator can connect systems your team already uses. Before anything is read, Aquir shows exactly what that connector will read and who on your team will be able to see it.
The Aquir app for Slack
A workspace administrator connects Slack to Aquir; then each person links their own Slack account to their own Aquir account. Both sides are required before anyone can ask anything.
What the Slack app reads:
- Direct messages sent to the Aquir app.
- Messages that @mention the Aquir app.
- Channel membership, to check for guests and people from other Slack workspaces.
- Names, email addresses and guest status of people in your Slack workspace — that membership check reads the workspace list.
It does not read channel history. Aquir sees a message only when that message is sent to it or mentions it. It has no permission to read anything else in your channels, and asks for none.
What the Slack app stores: the workspace's connection and its access token; the link between a Slack user and an Aquir user; at the moment you link, the email address, display name and handle on your Slack profile, held in a single-use link that expires in ten minutes; and one record per question — which Slack channel and thread it came from, and when. The question text and the answer are stored in your organisation's Aquir knowledge base, the same as a question asked on the web.
Where answers appear. An answer asked for in a channel is posted in that channel, where everyone in the channel can read it. Aquir refuses to answer in a channel shared with another Slack workspace, or in one that includes guests, and says so privately instead.
Linking requires matching emails. Your Slack email address and your Aquir email address must be the same, and Aquir refuses to link two accounts whose emails differ. There is no override.
Companies that process data for us
These are our service providers. They process data on our instructions, to run the product:
- OpenAI — generates the answer. It receives your question and the excerpts from your own documents that were retrieved to answer it.
- Google — turns text into the numerical form the search runs on. It receives the text being indexed or searched, including your question.
- Cohere — re-ranks candidate passages. It receives your question and the candidate excerpts.
- Slack — delivers messages between you and the Aquir app.
- Supabase — hosts the database.
- Railway — hosts the application.
- Web3Forms — delivers this website's two forms.
We do not sell personal information, we do not share it for advertising, and we do not use your content to train our own models. Aquir is operated from the United States and these providers may process data there.
How we protect it
Each customer's data is isolated from every other customer's in the database itself, not only in the application. Connector access tokens are encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM, and all traffic is over HTTPS.
How long we keep it
We keep your account, your organisation's content, and its questions and answers for as long as the account exists. We have not yet set fixed retention windows for question and answer history; until we do, we keep it and we will publish the window here when it is decided.
Disconnecting Slack takes effect immediately. An administrator disconnecting Slack — or removing the app from Slack — disables the connection, ends Aquir's access to the workspace, and invalidates every account link and any outstanding link invitation. It does not by itself erase the question and answer history already recorded. Email us and we will delete it.
Your choices
- Unlink your Slack account yourself, at any time, from Aquir's integration settings.
- Disconnect the workspace — a workspace administrator can, from the same place, or from Slack.
- Ask for a copy, a correction or a deletion of your personal information by emailing us. If your employer administers your account, we may ask them first — the data is theirs.
Children
Aquir is a product for businesses. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
Changes
When this policy changes we update the date at the top of this page. If a change matters to you, we will say so directly rather than leave you to notice it.
